This months meeting is a combination of a Swap Night, Rigging, Getting Ready for the Spring Classic and just Goofing Off. Come early and cast out side before or during the meeting. Bring some of your gear you might want to get rid of or swap for something else. We are also going to discuss the Spring Classic and get a head count of who is going to attend and who migh help out. We need all the support we can get. The Casting Class has only two spots left. If you want a spot you have to let me know. Any questions about the Casting Class or the Spring Classic please email at events@aswf.info Looking forward to seeing you on the 8th.
SPRING CLASSIC:
The Spring Classic is approaching fast. Please let us know if you are planning to stop in and join us for a few hours. If you would like to help man the room for a little, or evan take some people fishing that would be great. We purposely do not have a schedule of events for the weekend, but if you would like to suggest something we are always willing to accommodate it. This is a great event to help recruit your friends into joining the club. We are constantly looking for new members.
Membership Drive:
The first 12 members that brings a perspective member to the club and has them sing up will receive a 8 FLY ASSORTMENT. All you have to do is bring the perspective member to the meeting, have them fill out a membership form, pay Dues and then introduce him to me and the other members at the meeting. It is that simple. You will get your flies at the next meeting. This offer will end at our July Meeting.
Sign Up Now SPECIAL NOTE: At the Spring Classic, May 18-20, ASWF is proud to announce that Michael Mauri will be holding a casting class and will be going over Overhead, Spey and Switch Casting. If you attended the Somerset Show, you might have seen him giving a casting seminar in the casting pond or talked to him at his table. You can visit his website at www.mauri-flyfishing.us to learn about him and his casting style. The class will be open to 8 people and the fee is $75 paid in advance and will be held Saturday the 19th rain or shine. ASWF members will have priority to signup until April 15th and then the class will be offered to nonmembers. You will meet Saturday, time to be determined, at the Island Beach Motor Lodge in our Hospitality Suite #210. This class will fill up quick and we will have a waiting list. He will also be available to do private lessons throughout the weekend. The Six Hour class will be split into two 3 hour sessions with a lunch break(you supply a pack lunch) in between. Bring your waders and stripping basket because this class will be held on the water. As more details unfold I will let you known. We will have a more detailed list of what will be covered and the type of rod(s) to bring. This is a great opportunity to learn and improve your casting and understanding of casting. If you are interested please contact us.
